Shimpan seminar details

The shimpan briefing for local officials will start at 4.30pm on Friday in the ANU new hall. The sensei shimpan breifing will run from 5-6pm. For this informal seminar, it's permissible to dress in keiko-go and hakama.

Visitor information: parking at ANU, eateries open over the Easter weekend, Sunday informal dinner.

Here is a map of the venue at ANU (Bldg 19a) with paid parking areas shown in brown. There are no pay stations, payment must be made through the CellOpark app. Here are the instructions for using CellOPark.

This website lists some venues that are open over Easter. As there's other events in town (such as the folk festival), you may wish to book ahead. There's also an informal dinner at Duxton's pub from 6.30pm on Sunday.

Competition and shimpan draw released

Draws and updated draws for compeitors and shimpan (with adjustments for withdrawals) have been distributed to state bodies. The shimpan briefing has been pushed back from 2pm, with a briefing for local officials commencing at 4.30pm on Friday in the ANU new hall. The sensei shimpan breifing will run from 5-6pm.
Further updates, information regarding parking and more will be distributed this week.

AKC 2017 announced

The 42nd Australian Kendo Championships, Seminar and Grading Exam will be held in Canberra, ACT, 14-19 April 2012. Also the Annual General Meetings of both the AKR National Council meeting and the AKR Kendo Board will be held.
